In 2007, at her alma mater, the Betty Nguyen Scholarship in Broadcasting was established to help students achieve a career in broadcast journalism. Involved in charitable work, she is the co-founder of Support the Hungry, a non-profit group supplying poverty-stricken families with humanitarian relief.
