Furthermore, he began his career as an intern at the Orlando, Florida-based NBC News affiliate. Prior to graduation, he worked as a paralegal and public affairs director for a Gainesville-based regional law firm. The firm specializes in criminal defense, personal injury, and wrongful death cases.
His training and skills have allowed him to apply his legal knowledge to the coverage of several important news in Northwest Arkansas. For example, the retrial of Mauricio Torres, the Bella Vista father originally convicted for the rape and murder of his 6-year-old son in Benton County.
Also, he helped cover the funeral procession for deceased Fayetteville police officer Stephen Carr, who was killed in the line of duty by a gunman in December of this year. Additionally, he was the emcee for the American Heart Association of Northwest Arkansas’ Cycle Nation event, which aimed to empower the community to take charge of their brain and heart health.
Throughout the school year, he honors area teachers who go above and beyond in the classroom through the KNWA/Post Consumer Brands Golden Apple Award program.
