Taylor Clark Career
Clark serves as a freelance videographer and on-air talent since October 2021. Previously, he served KTUU as a multimedia journalist and an anchor from September 2019 to October 2021. While there, he wrote, edited, and shot a majority of his stories solo. Taylor was up in Florida, where he spent most of his boyhood fishing on the Gulf or relaxing in the crystal clear springs of the Ocala National Forest.
He got his start in broadcast journalism, with an internship at WFLA News Channel 8. Taylor learned what it meant to be a good reporter – and what it needed to be one. Following beats, interviewing “every day” and prominent individuals alike, and shadowing and learning from some of Florida’s top reporters.
Taylor was employed by KFVS-TV, the #1 news station in ‘The Heartland,’ and a sister station of KTUU-TV, after graduation (also owned by Gray Television). KFVS has a new market that stretches over five states. Taylor was part of a three-person news team at the Southern Illinois bureau, which was responsible for covering the entire Illinois region of the market.
According to him, the Midwest was an ideal training ground for a young journalist. To name a few areas of concentration, he followed tornadoes, listened to farmers’ troubles in a trade war, reported on some of the worst floodings in state history, and saw communities battle to deal with a drug issue for two years. Taylor and his coworkers at KFVS were nominated for a top Emmy award in 2019 for their team coverage of an EF-2 tornado that ripped through Paducah, Kentucky.
