Ezell revealed that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements and typically worsens over time. He shared the news with viewers during the 9 a.m. newscast with Margie Ellisor.
Ezell brought to light that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. His main presenting symptoms initially were lack of balance, slow motion, movement, stiffness, and fatigue. He also shared that, he has a great team of doctors and tremendous love and support from family, Fox 2 family, and friends.

Ezell announced that he was leaving FOX 2 on 10 June 2014 to be a full-time pastor. He became a full-time lead pastor of The Journey South County church at Bernard Middle School, in the Mehlville area. Ezell held his first service at the new location on the 8th of September, 2014.
