There, she covered various breaking stories, including the front lines of NATO, the 2012 Presidential Election, and a historic Chicago Teachers Union Strike. She has survived the Windy City’s blistering cold, from the Polar Vortex of 2014 to the Blizzard of 2011 and 2015. His most memorable moment in Chicago was the creation of a youth mentoring program, Sisters Peak, which was to assist female students to achieve their dreams.
Before going to FOX 32 News, she served at WXIN-TV, the FOX affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a news reporter and anchor. Lewis has served at the NBC station in Miami, Florida, WTVJ-TV for 4 years. There in Miami, she covered everything from Anna Nicole Smith’s death to the 2008 presidential campaign to hurricane season. Also, from the inauguration of President Barack Obama to conflicts in Cuba and Haiti, including the transition of power in Cuba when leader Fidel Castro became ill. In Miami, she has worked for the CW affiliate, WSFL-TVas an anchor of news headlines on “The Morning Show.”
Lewis started her journalism career in the year 2002 in New York, where she served at Fox News Channel. There, she served behind the camera. After two years with Fox News Channel, she went to work as a fill-in anchor, as well as a news reporter at the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield, California, KGET-TV. She first appeared on television when she was 14 years old, when she was a “Posse Member” on Black Entertainment Television(BET), a talk shows Teen Summit based in Washington, D.C. She was appearing on a public service announcement that concentrated on HIV/AIDS awareness.
