During his tenure at WAPT-TV, he was voted Best Weathercaster in Mississippi State in the year 2013 by the Associated Press. The Associated Press has awarded Huston and the 16 WAPT News team Best Newscast awards for many years. Huston and the 16 WAPT News team holds an Edward R. Murrow award for the coverage of the deadly Yazoo City tornado in the year 2010. Huston also holds the National Weather Association Weathercaster Seal of Approval.
During his leisure, he likes watching college sports, including Mississippi State University Bulldogs, and Ohio University Bobcats basketball and football. You can find him rooting for the Browns, Cavaliers, and Cleveland Indians. Also, when he is not chasing weather, he enjoys the outdoors, running(he is preparing for a half or full marathon), or working out at Crossfit.
