He was always surprised by Jeff Carter-the public address announcer for the San Francisco Giants-who had the privilege of saying Willie Mays’ name whenever he came to bat.

While he was in 8th grade, he did a PA basketball tournament. In addition, since 1971, he has always been involved with sports in the Treasure Valley. He served as a sports reporter at KFXD Radio for the morning reports. In the year 1978, was when he became a television sportscaster with his credits including two seasons as host of Boise State’s weekly coach’s show and play-by-play duties for live telecasts during the Broncos’ national championship season in 1980.

In addition, when he joined KBOI’s Paul J. Schneider on the Bronco radio team he took back his stadium announcing duties in the 1985 and 1986 seasons. In addition, he is a veritable BSU football historian, having researched and written the first complete Bronco football record book in 1983. During his leisure time, he enjoys biking, skiing, and Idaho outdoors in general prior to being actively involved in community projects.
