During his stint there, he earned an Emmy award nomination and assisted the station’s news staff to attain a regional Murrow Award.
They earned the award as a result of their broadcast of Leighton Vander Esch’s drafting in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys. Previously, he worked at WOI, the ABC station in Des Moines, Iowa where he served as a sports anchor and reporter for a period of two and a half years.
Des Moines, Iowa is his native home and while growing up, he always knew he wanted to be a sports news anchor and reporter. Furthermore, he covers Boise State’s athletic programs as well as quite a bit beyond the Broncos, inclusive of; softball, baseball, lacrosse, track, wrestling, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and football.
He has also reported on the Boise Hawks, Steelheads, and so many other sports-related topics in the Treasure Valley in addition to receiving an Emmy nomination for his storytelling. While he was at WOI, he interned for his senior year of high school and throughout his time in college while attending Iowa State University.
In addition, for his sports reporting, he received the Iowa Broadcast News Association award in 2014. During his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family, die-hard Iowa State Cyclone fan, and is an avid runner.
