Washington serves at CBS3 Philadelphia as the co-anchor of Eyewitness News on CBS 3 at 4,5,6 and 11 PM. He also co-anchors Eyewitness News on The CW Philly at 10 PM on sister station WPSG-TV. Ukee joined the Channel 3 news team as a sports anchor in July 1986. In 1996, he moved over to the news desk as an early morning and noon anchor. In July 2015, he was promoted to anchor of the evening editions of Eyewitness News.

Since then, Ukee has been at the forefront of some of the most memorable stories in the country, including Super Storm Sandy in 2012, the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in 2016, and the landmark visit of Pope Francis to the city in 2015.

Furthermore, the flexible duties of the anchor have ranged from covering the 2015 Philadelphia Mayoral Candidates Debate to going behind bars to interviewing a high school classmate on death row. Ukee has also hosted guests three times, in 2013, 2014, and 2016, on the famous CBS network talk show, THE TALK.

As a youngster, music was his other passion. He traveled to Russia, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Denmark, and Mexico as a member of the “elite” Philadelphia Boys Choir to sing. In his broadcasting career as the host of the Philadelphia Orchestra’s live telecasts and his live coverage of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games from Nagano, Japan, both experiences proved helpful.

Ukee was a sports anchor at WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, Florida, and at WSB-TV in Atlanta prior to coming home to the Philadelphia area. He has been elected to both the 2015 Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the 2008 Philadelphia Television Pioneers Hall of Fame among his honors.

In February 2017, during its special Black History Month observance, Philadelphia’s City Council reiterated what most of us already suspected, calling Ukee a “Living Legend”. When coming to his education, is a grad of Dover High School in Delaware, and a graduate of Richmond University.
