Prior to graduating from KFMB in San Diego and WRC in Washington, D.C., she has gained hands-on experience in broadcast journalism. Jessica received a master’s degree in communications from Johns Hopkins University in 2016.

She came from WJZ, the Baltimore station owned by CBS, where she was with CBS3, KYW-TV, from the summer of 2006 before she joined. From the southwest, she came to Baltimore, where she worked in Albuquerque, N.M. Anchoring KASA FOX 2 News at Nine, and reporting for KOB-TV ‘s sister station. She was promoted to KOB-TV, anchoring the 4 p.m. channel. News while continuing to work on other newscasts as a reporter. She served as a weekend anchor and reporter for KYMA-TV in Yuma, Ariz. prior to moving to New Mexico. While there, she won first place from the Associated Press in the “Hard News Feature” category.

Jessica worked with the Special Olympics while in Albuquerque, teaching athletes public speaking skills. She is very involved with Ruth Maryland’s Home, where she is a member of the board and part of the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN). She was recently named a recipient of the 2014 Leading Women Award from The Daily Record, which honors women under 40 for their professional success, engagement in the community, and dedication to inspiring change. She has also been named a Living Classrooms Foundation Baltimore Rising Star is a member of the American News Women’s Club and National Press Club, and is on the Irvine Nature Center’s Board of Trustees. In the movie Transformers, which is now on DVD, viewers will see her.
