While working at KTXS-TV, she reported on what happened after several tornadoes hit the Big Country area. Macias says that she is always ready to report on the news as it happens. She was assigned to Odessa in the Permian basin to report on a story about a mass shooting, where drivers were killed.
Macias worked as a News Reporter at Media General in Charleston, South Carolina, from September 2013 to March 2015. Following this, she served as a Journalist at TMJ4 in the year 2015. Before that, she was a Reporter at Cox Media Group in El Paso, Texas, from January 2012 to May 2013. During her college years, she gained experience through various internships, including positions at NBC4 Washington, The Washington Post, Telemundo Network, and the Hispanic Link News Service as a News Intern, News-aide, and Scripps Howard Fellow, respectively.
