Wes Wyatt Education

Wyatt graduated from Mississippi State University in the year 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and then attended The University of Alabama. He graduated from the university in the year 2010 with a Master of Science in Geography. During his stint at the University of Alabama, he worked as an adjunct instructor of Broadcast Meteorology.

Wyatt serves at WBRC as a Chief Meteorologist. His forecasts appear every evening from Monday to Friday at 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm, 9 pm, and 10 pm. He also forecasts the weather on I-Heart Radio stations throughout East, West, and Central Alabama. He began as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist and Severe Weather Analyst at the station before making his way up to Chief Meteorologist. Before joining WBRC, he worked for WVUA-TV in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as a Chief Meteorologist for 7 years.

Before going to WVUA, he served at WTOK-TV in Meridian, Mississippi, as a Chief Meteorologist. Wyatt worked for WJRD-TV in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as a Meteorologist before going to WTOK. Wyatt has more than 10 years of experience with meteorology. He has reported on some of the most major/significant severe weather events in the history of Alabama.

Wyatt has always loved and enjoyed sharing his passion for weather. He has gone to various schools and spoken to a variety of organizations throughout his career. Wyatt has assisted in mentoring numerous successful meteorologists in the weather business today. He became fascinated with the weather after experiencing the 1993 Blizzard in Alabama when he was growing up. 

Wyatt is a member and holds Seals of Approval from the National Weather Association Local Chapter, the American Meteorological Society, and the National Weather Association. As a member of the National Weather Association Seal Committee, he is a participant in the evaluation of meteorologists throughout the nation. Among his most scornful achievements, an honorary resolution for covering severe weather in West Alabama, from Alabama State is one of them. In the years 2015, 2009, 2008, 2005, and 2003, the Associated Press named Wyatt the best weather anchor. During his leisure time, he likes to play guitar, explore the outdoors, and garden. He also enjoys football Saturdays in the fall during his spare time.
