Borg serves Dakota News Now as a weekend sports anchor and reporter. He joined the station in January 2020. Previously, he served KDLT as a weekend sports anchor and a reporter for 7 years. Borg aspired to be an All-Star power forward, a 40-homerun cleanup hitter, and a pass-rushing defensive lineman when he was younger. He thought that talking about sports would be a better way to make a job than playing them when it became evident that he would never be taller than five-foot.

During video games and doing sports reports during his high school broadcasts in between the lunch announcements, he aggravates his parents with play-by-play. He decided to pursue a career as a play-by-play announcer, and finally earned a bachelor’s degree in technical journalism from Colorado State University.

He started his career in Fargo, where he met some of South Dakota’s clubs and even covered the inaugural Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls. He is a huge fan of the Avalanche, the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as the Colorado Rockies. So there you have it. During the high school football season, he chooses the winners for prizes.
