He was a Weather Club member while in college where he participated in WxChallenge. Out of all the freshmen and sophomores in the United States that participated in the challenge, he won first place in forecasting for Phoenix, Arizona during his sophomore year. He spent the last three months of his senior year of college interning at KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minnesota.
Upon graduation, he began working as a fill-in meteorologist at KBJR in August 2017. In October 2017, he was elevated to a weekend meteorologist for CBS 3 Duluth. Later in July 2018, he was upgraded to a weekday morning meteorologist for CBS 3 Duluth until July 2020. In January 2021, he started as a First Alert Meteorologist for Dakota News Now.
Haskins, since he was a small boy, has always been fascinated by the weather. His friends and family use to listen to the fake forecasts he was going about telling them. He claims that the most difficult aspect of predicting in Duluth was Lake Superior, which had a significant impact on the weather. Winter weather reports were what he reported more than severe weather.
When he is not busy tracking storms, he is playing video games, enjoying spending his time with his family and friends, as well as playing sports like basketball and softball. In addition to sports, he’s an avid fan of the Lakers and Brewers, where Baseball and basketball are his favorite sports.
