Besides that, in October 2018, Alex also traveled to Pittsburgh to cover the horrific mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue. The only South Florida station that traveled to Pittsburgh was Local 10.
Alex has worked around the world in newsrooms, from New York City to Alabama. Alex has had the opportunity to interview a wide range of prominent individuals during her career, including President Barack Obama, President Donald Trump, Reverend Al Sharpton, and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few.
As well as the contentious Alabama Senate race between Roy Moore and Sen. Doug Jones, she covered the highly reported Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley controversy that led to his resignation. She also had the distinction of covering the incident that led to the Voting Rights Act, the 50-year anniversary of “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Alabama.
Alex loves spending time with her family during her off time, volunteering in her community, and relaxing when she can. She loves to be back in South Florida to share the stories that have affected the culture she has been calling home since childhood.
