Before her time in Memphis, Lorenzo served at NPR in Gainesville, Florida, as a Morning Edition Anchor and Producer for 2 years and 4 months (Feb 2016 – May 2018). There, she was responsible for hosting live segments with field reporters on the scene and for 14 newscasts. She also trained students serving as associate producers within the Innovation News Center.
Lorenzo was responsible for the coverage of the visit of Richard Spencer (a white nationalist) to Florida, and for that, she earned an Associated Press (AP) award.
