Jones serves at WFTV as a News Anchor and Investigative News Reporter. She anchors Eyewitness News every Sunday at 6 pm and 11 pm on WFTV, and at 10 pm on TV 27, WRDQ. This is her second stint at WFTV. Her first stint was from 2007  to 2013, and she worked as a news reporter.

In the first stint, she gained a reputation as an enterprising reporter who was responsible for delivering exclusive stories and breaking news. She was also the lead reporter on Trayvon Martin’s death and the Florida A&M University drum major Robert Champion’s hazing death. 

After her first stint, she went to work for NBC in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a news reporter where she reported on some of the region’s biggest stories such as the abduction of a 5-year-old. For that coverage, she was nominated for an Emmy Award.

She also provided extensive reports on Governor Chris Christie’s GW Bridge scandal and the School District of Philadelphia budget crisis. During the murder trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, Jones served as the lead reporter throughout the coverage. Jones also has traveled for national stories such as the Boston Marathon bombings, Oklahoma City tornadoes, and the Washington DC Navy Yard shooting.

A few days after the 2012 presidential election, Jones conducted an interview with Rick Scott (Florida Gov.). She pressed Rick Scott on his controversial refusal in extending early voting in the state and the impact that may have had on delayed election results. Jones’s coverage was featured on MSNBC.

Jones has worked for WREG-TV in Memphis, Tennesse as a news reporter for 2 years. She has also served at WCIA-TV in Decatur, Illinois as a Bureau Chief for 2 years. Additionally, Jones has served as a Statehouse Reporter at WICS-TV in Springfield, Illinois for 10 months.
