She is well known for having worked for an NBC Affiliate, WAVE 3 News in Louisville, Kentucky as a Morning News Reporter and Fill-in Anchor, before joining WFTV. She worked there from September 2018 to March 2022. While at WAVE, she was also working for WFTV, she worked for WJFW-TV in Rhinelander, Wisconsin as a news anchor/reporter (from August 2016 to September 2018).
Ashley began her journalism career as a news intern at NBC Universal – TODAY Show, PBS, Dateline, CNBC, and CNN. She has earned recognition for her work in uncovering and breaking the case of Breonna Taylor that led to national and local law changes such as the ban of no-knock warrants. While at WAVE, she won 2 Emmy Awards for her work as a reporter and anchor. Ashley has worked on numerous stories that have led to legal changes related to incompetency, mental health, and violent offenders.
While in college at New York University, she was part of The Academic Achievement Program; The Black Student Union; the Wasserman Student Diversity Board; the International Relations Club; Women of Excellence Strength and Tenacity; and the Women in Communications. She loves being a “Big Sister” in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program.
She has resided in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for half a year, where she became conversational in Spanish. During Ashley’s leisure time, she likes to walk with her dog, Ace Boogie. Also, she enjoys traveling and exploring local restaurants that the area has to offer, in her spare time.
