Higgins has been the host of sports-talk radio shows on XTRA Sports 1360 and The Mighty 1090. He also worked as the radio announcer for USD football, SDSU baseball, and USD basketball. He has also served as a host of a few special shows on 10News, including 4 trips to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to report on the Little League World Series in the years 2015, 2013, 2009, and 2005. One of his unforgettable stories is about the winning team from Park View Little League in Chula Vista.
Higgins followed his passion right after college. He started working at XTRA Sports 690 radio in the year 1997. After 3 years, he got picked to be one of the hosts for the San Diego Padres Post and Pre-Game Shows on AM 600 KOGO. In the year 2003, during Spring Training, he got to use his play-by-play skills and worked with the famous Jerry Coleman.
Higgins has always loved sports and grew up watching teams like the Clippers, the Chargers, the Padres, the Aztecs, the Gulls, the Sockers, and the Toreros. He used to go to lots of games every year. He says that one of his best memories is going to Game 5 of the NLCS at Jack Murphy Stadium. The Padres won, and that meant they were going to the World Series for the very 1st time.
When it comes to his education, Higgins is a proud alumnus of Torrey Pines High School and Pomona College. He graduated from Pomona College in the year 1997 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Politics. During his leisure time, he likes golfing or spending time with his friends and family.
