Then, in the year 2015, Holmes went to work for WJTV 12 in Jackson, Mississippi as a Morning News Reporter.
While she was in college, Holmes learned how to do many jobs in journalism. She wrote stories, edited them, and made her own stories for a show called “Newscene” at City College. When she was very young, only 5 years old, she already liked journalism and being on TV. She would use the video camera of her father during family parties and pretend to be a news reporter at home.

While she was at WJTV, Holmes got 3rd place for “Best Feature Story” in the year 2016, at the Mississippi & Louisiana Associated Press Broadcasters Awards. Then, in the next year (2017), she was given an award as the “Reporter of the Year.”
When it comes to her education, Holmes is a proud May 2012 alumnus of San Diego State University, She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Television, Film, and New Media; Journalism and Media Studies; and Communications. She is also an alumnus of Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley, California. Holmes has also studied at San Diego City College.
