Over the years of her career, she has covered many significant stories. When the governor of Missouri passed away in a plane crash, she reported live about it all night. At that time, she thought no other news could be bigger than this. However, in the year 2008, a big flood happened, and the TV station kept showing news about the disaster without many breaks for several days.
Malicki made a TV show called “To the Point with Beth Malicki” because of the floods and Iowa’s important role in politics (by the way Malicki is Republican). Her show and her work as a reporter and anchor got her awards like Iowa Broadcast News Association awards, regional Emmys, Northwest Broadcast News Association awards, and other community awards.
Other than working as a journalist, Malicki has also worked for the Zach Johnson Foundation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a Program Leader for 6 years and 6 months (June 2013 – November 2019). She loves books and she has sold books for Books Etc. for 5 years (1993 – 1998). Malicki has done important work as the co-chair of the United Way of East Central Iowa. She helped raise $10.33 M for the campaign of the year 2009. She also wrote grants that got over $1.8 M to help children in eastern Iowa for 4 years (from 2013 to 2017).
Malicki is also a philanthropist. Her main charity interest is helping kids in poverty get a good education and chances in life. She helped start the Zach Johnson Foundation board and managed the Kids on Course program.
