He has been a broadcast journalist since 1989, when he began his career at radio station WIBV in St. Louis, Missouri. Bob and his wife relocated to WSBT in South Bend in 1991 to continue his profession. Montgomery has been the morning radio news anchor on WSBT since then.

Bob was moved to WSBT Radio’s news and program director post in 1996. Bob is thrilled to have led the most award-winning radio news team in South Bend for the past two decades. Montgomery is also incredibly happy to work for WSBT, which he refers to as “the best broadcast firm in the industry.” And he’s thrilled and honored to be able to continue his television career with WSBT 22 First in the Morning.
