Before joining WTOP in 2000, Brennan worked for a CBS affiliate in Seattle in 1993 called KIRO-AM where he worked as an anchor, reporter, and editor for nearly seven years.

Haselton kickstarted his career in 1991 in Port Angeles, Washington where he worked for KONP-AM. While at KONP-AM, Brennan served as the Morning news emcee and as the news director. Throughout his career, he has won several awards including the National Headliner Grand Award, for broadcast journalism excellence. Additionally, he was awarded the National Edward R. Murrow Award which he has won two times.
