Baldwin joined WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2001. She then became the morning anchor at WOWK-TV in Huntington and the West Virginia area. Later Baldwin joined WTTG in Washington, D.C as a lead reporter for the 10 pm newscast. In 2010, Baldwin signed a contract with CNN and HLN Network where she worked as a contributor on Rick’s List, hosted by Rick Sanchez. In 2010, Baldwin was fired from the show for making anti-Semitic remarks.

In 2012, Baldwin’s documentary “To Catch a Killer” won a Silver World Medal for Best Investigative Report at the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards. Baldwin covered President Obama’s second inauguration from Washington, D.C. in January of 2013. In 2015, she hosted a town hall in Washington, D.C. on gun violence, for which she was a Peabody Award finalist.
In April 2015, Brooke was featured by Variety in “Brooke Baldwin Gives Surprising Boost to CNN”. Brooke reported live from Orlando in June 2016, covering the victims and survivors of the Pulse nightclub scene which is the second-largest mass shooting in the U.S. where 49 people were killed, and 53 injured. On October 18, 2016, Brooke criticized Donald Trump’s call for term limits on members of Congress by incorrectly saying that such limits already existed. On January 20, 2017, Brooke covered President Trump’s inauguration from Washington, D.C.
