She spends a lot of time reporting from the United States- Mexico border on immigration development. Furthermore, she was able to obtain exclusive photos that showed for the first time the severe conditions children are going through when in Border Patrol’s custody. Surprisingly, she also got rare access to the United States Border Patrol Academy and from that, she was able to produce ‘The Green Wall’ a three-part series that came as a result of the three months that she spent embedded with three border patrol agents.
In the final week of the 2016, election, she embarked on a one-month road trip for CNN’s award-winning #MyVote Campaign Camper tour where she spoke with Americans on issues that concern them. On the 2016 election night, she did digital coverage from the Empire State Building for CNN, her coverage won a Webby, PROMAX BDA award, and an Edward R. Murrow. She has sat with Princess Mette-Marit of Norway and Crown Prince Haakon in addition to having an exclusive interview with Richard Branson.
When coming to her education, she attended Fordham University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Spanish. Furthermore, she holds a certificate for the Polish language from Hunter College. She is an eloquent Spanish speaker. The International Center for Journalists and the Knight Foundation’s US – Russia Young Media Professionals Fellowship awarded her the Scripps Howard Immigration Fellowship.
