Cedric Haynes Career / Cedric Haynes Leaving WYFF

Haynes has worked at WYFF News 4 Today as the weekend evening meteorologist. His last date on the station was on September 24, 2021. Leaving WYFF, he stated that the reason why he resigned was that he wanted to be closer to his family. Before joining WYFF, he was in the Quad Cities, where he had many record-breaking winters to witness.

Cedric’s interest in the weather started when he was 7 years old when his community was devastated by a tornado. In Georgia, the same storm dropped almost 30 inches of snow, and his fascination with it led Cedric to follow his interest in the weather.

After college, in Lake Charles, LA, Cedric spent a few years covering hurricanes and significant flooding events. He was promoted to KLTV and KTRE morning meteorologist in East Texas in 2014, where he had the opportunity to track many tornadoes, ice storms, heatwaves, and even drought.

The love for the weather stems from Cedric’s deep belief in providing viewers with the knowledge they need to both schedule their day and prepare for extreme weather. If Cedric does not produce the prediction, he can generally be found watching his favorite sports teams: the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cincinnati Bearcats, and the Tennessee Volunteers, of course. Also, Cedric is very serious about giving the world back. He is an involved member of his faith, a keen supporter of the Christian Athletes’ Fellowship, and enjoys youth mentoring.
