Prior to joining WMBF News, he served at WOLO-TV in Columbia, South California as a weeknight anchor for five years. He began his on-air job in a small of Hopkinsville, Kentucky having experience of more than 25 years. WWAG (TV-43) employed him as a producer and finally, he was the station’s main evening anchor. The station won the Best Low Power Station award in the country during his term as an anchor there.
He headed to WEHT in Evansville, Indiana to serve as an anchor. A few years later he spent in Raleigh, North Carolina at WLFL serving as an anchor and also launched the investigative unit. Weisfeld hosted and produced a documentary about troubled youth, that won an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award. During his time in North Carolina, he was introduced to hurricanes for the time, reporting from the Outer Banks the Hurricane Bonnie.
Weisfeld was lucky enough in 2000, he was able to go back to his hometown of Indianapolis. He anchored the news for seven years and at RTV6 he was an investigative reporter. He spent weeks in New York following the September 11 terror attacks while in Indianapolis. The morning following the attack, Weisfeld was the first Indianapolis anchor to report live from New York City.
In the sunny Southwest at WBBH and WZVN (sister stations) in Fort Myers, he anchored news during the mornings. He is a proud graduate of Indiana University School of Journalism where he earned a major in Journalism and Speech Communications.
