When an MLB season is over, Amsinger takes on the role of doing play-by-play for some college basketball games for men on the Big Ten Network.
Before joining MLB, he served at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana as a CBS College Sports/CSTV as a sports reporter. Amsinger used to be the main studio host for CBS College Sports Network (which was once called CSTV). He had a bunch of shows there, like Inside College Football, Crystal Ball, The #1 College Sports Show, NCAA March Madness Highlights, and Generation Next. The NCAA March Madness Highlights was the NCAA men’s basketball tournament’s official highlight show. He also did play-by-play for women’s college paintball and basketball for CSTV.
Back in the year 2006, Amsinger served as the host of the SEC Preview Show with Brian Jones and Gary Danielson, for CSTV. Then, in the subsequent year, Amsinger served as the co-host of the World Series of Video Games with Susie Castillo, who used to be an MTV host.
