Hinds serves at FOX 13 as a co-anchor for the weekend evening newscasts. Before joining the station, she served at WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Florida as a Reporter/Anchor for 5 years (October 2009 – October 2014). While there, she traveled all over the state, reporting on stories such as the Gulf of Mexico oil spill in Pensacola. Also, had an experience of skydiving (twice!) with the United States Army Golden Knights during their winter training in Homestead. Additionally, Hinds witnessed Manuel Valle’s execution in Starke.
Before going to WINK, she worked for WSTM-TV/WTVH-TV in Syracuse, New York as a Multimedia Journalist for one and a half years. While there, she covered the story of the missing person case of Aeryn Gillern. The story has since gained international attention. She also reported on the first hate-crime murder trial in Onondaga County.
She has also served at WCYJ-TV in Bristol, Virginia as an Anchor/Reporter for nearly two and a half years. Hinds has also worked at MCA-TV as a reporter and host; WCYJ-FM as a news director; and WTAE-TV as well as KDKA-TV as a news intern.
When Hinds was in grade 8, she had a field trip to KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she realized that a career in television news was definitely her calling. Hinds holds the Best Individual Achievement Award which she received in the year 2013 from the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters. This award was for excellence in reporting on different hard news, feature stories, and breaking news.
During her leisure time, she likes to compete in marathons (she is a 5-time Marathoner and calls herself a Distance runner). Also, she enjoys painting, cooking, singing, paddleboarding, or sampling every slice of pizza she encounters. She also likes being at LECOM Park with a hot dog in hand – especially throughout the Spring Training season.
