She is a strong supporter of the Face of Courage non-profit.

Hurtado also strongly supports the My Hope Chest which funds reconstruction for women with no insurance. She donates proceeds from A Shoot for a Cure to the Florida Hospital Foundation to fund mammograms for women without insurance, annually. Hurtado is an active member of the American Cancer Society’s Reach to Recovery and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events.
