Before Aarons joined KGTV, she worked for KGAN/KFXA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a sports director for nearly a decade (September 2004 – May 2014). He began his career in broadcasting at KXLF in Butte, Montana. There he was an anchor and reporter for both sports and news. While he was there, he paid a lot of attention to what the city was doing about its government and economy during a tough time.
Aarons has worked for Cedar Rapids Kernels in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as an On Field Entertainment Emcee for 2 years and 3 months (April 2012 – June 2014). For nearly 2 and a half years (Feb 2012 – Jun 2014), he served at Cedar Rapids Titans in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a Radio Color Commentator.
