Myers died on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in a helicopter crash in North Carolina alongside pilot Chip Tayag in a helicopter crash Tuesday while reporting. The crash occurred around noon Tuesday off Interstate 77, and the two died on the scene.
His death was announced by WBTV who said in a statement, “The WBTV family is grieving a terrible loss. Our news helicopter Sky3 crashed mid-day Tuesday with two of our colleagues on board. We are working to comfort their families in this difficult time. We appreciate the outpouring of support for our staff and your continued prayers for their families.”
