After leaving the station, he went to work for the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports in Albany as a Director of Public Awareness Campaigns.
Prior to joining WNYT, Jerry was a former anchor and reporter for WRGB in Schenectady. He worked in the Northeast prior to his years in upstate New York and traveled the globe as a reporter to bring the news home. The idea for #ColdCase13, a daily segment highlighting unsolved killings and disappearances from around the Capital City, was created by Jerry in 2018. He acknowledges how vital it is for individuals not to forget about cold cases. Jerry has a cousin who died in 2001 and has not been seen or heard of since then.
When coming to his education, he earned his Marist College Bachelor of Arts. He loves biking, tennis, youth basketball coaching, cooking and baking, DIY ventures, sailing, and theatre attendance and participation. Jerry can often be seen acting in one of his Frank Sinatra or Rat Pack revues or in one of their ‘Singing Anchors’ productions alongside Benita Zahn when he’s not on the air.
