Elaine was also in Washington DC in 2017 to cover the hundreds of thousands of women who rallied in the capital of the nation for the Women’s March on Washington in opposition to President Donald Trump’s proposals.
For her work in Washington DC, she won the Employee of the Month. Elaine traveled to the White House in 2015, where then-President Barack Obama posthumously presented the Medal of Honor to WW1 soldier Sgt. Henry Johnson. In 2004, Elaine traveled to Oklahoma to cover tornado damage and to Massachusetts as well as the White House bid by Sen. John Kerry. Elaine went to Cuba in 1999 and covered the protracted conflict over little Elian Gonzalez, as well as a day in the life of the Cuban citizens of Havana.
