He announced his retirement in November 2020. December 4, 2020, was his last day at the station.
Jim worked for WAKR radio and WAKC-TV in Akron, Ohio, from 1981 to 1991. In 1991, before moving to NewsChannel 13 in 1994, Jim moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he anchored on WMTV. Jim is the recipient of an Emmy award and has been nominated twice. When coming to his education, he is a graduate of Newhouse College at Syracuse University, where he obtained a BA degree in television and radio. He started off in Syracuse on WSYR Radio.
