Hodell has worked his way up through the rank from weekend meteorologist to the head of the Eyewitness News weather department, a position he elevated to in 2005. Upon graduation, he headed to Erie, Pennsylvania to work for WJET-TV as their reporter. After 6 months, he joined WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
During his time there, he served as the weather anchor and reporter. His passion for weather increased when attended Mississippi State University. Though he is busy with work throughout, he finds time to relax. The National Weather Association (NWA) and The American Meteorological Society (AMS) awarded him NWA and CBM Seals of Approval for perfection in broadcast meteorology.
During his free time, he is outdoors enjoying watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, skiing, biking, exercising, as well as traveling. He is an avid aviation fan, if he is not looking toward the sky to study the weather, he is looking for airplanes.
