Landon serves at FOX 2 Detroit in Michigan as a morning news anchor and Reporter. He began his career in journalism, working as a reporter in Lansing, Michigan. Landon worked in Florida from there, Virginia, Wisconsin, and now back home. He had been gone for eight years before FOX 2’s wonderful chance to work came his way.
He remembers a time when his cousin Andre was maybe four or five years old and he was at the Detroit International Auto Show. Two little kids were sitting in the car, checking it out and a news crew came out of nowhere to interview them. Later on, they hit the headlines. That was a wonderful experience that he still remembers to this day.
Another time, he recalled walking around Eastland Mall when he was a boy, and he noticed a former TV meteorologist shopping with his children. It’s kind of odd, he knows, but he followed that gentleman in the mall before he got his attention.
He came forward, shook Josh’s hand, and wished him a good day. There was also a time when he was 15 years old, at McDonald’s outside Eastland Mall, working on his first job. One day when a news crew went by to grab food, he was working at the drive-through. The argument with his stories is that as a boy he has run into local TV characters on more than one occasion. He honestly believes that it was God’s intention for me to take on this career.
When coming to his education, he graduated from Denby High School and received his degree from Eastern Michigan University in broadcast journalism. Before he knew broadcast journalism would be his path, it took him to reach the age of 19. It was his college sophomore at EMU, he was a high school major at present, and he talked with a college friend about her internships at FOX 2 NEWS and 97.9. radio station.
She told him about her memories, and she told him something about giving him a shot. He is so glad he did that. He was officially addicted from the moment he saw anchors and reporters doing their jobs, and knew this was his job. It took him eight years to do business and to work in various cities before returning home, and he’s so grateful to be back in the city he loves so much.
