Golston serves at Fox 2 – WJBK as a weekend news anchor. Golston started her career in Green Bay, Wisconsin as a night-side reporter, web producer, and later as a fill-in anchor for the CBS station. While there, she was most proud of her reporting that the funds needed for a potentially life-saving operation had been denied to a small child with a rare skin condition.

Medicaid credited WFRV with bringing knowledge to light, which prompted the department to investigate the case. She is a Suzuki-trained pianist, a career she has been practicing for 8 years. Golston worked at WKYC in Cleveland, where she received three Cleveland Press Club awards and appeared on MSNBC for her expertise in the case of Tamir Rice and Charlotte North Carolina’s Weather Channel.

“Most recently, she was honored to take home the “General Assignment News” Lower Great Lakes Regional Emmy, including reports she made about the courageous response of an activist to violence on the streets of Cleveland, demonstrations in response to President Donald Trump’s victory, sex trafficking in northeast Ohio, and a one-on-one in-depth interview with a Black pastor making national headlines

She’s nabbed exclusives and kept accountable to elected officials. Golston covered some of the nation’s highest-profile police shootings, breaking reports that kept the prosecutor of Cuyahoga County responsible while leading a clergy organization to urge the prosecutor to recuse himself following the killing of 12-year-old Tamir Rice.

In order to cover a historic 1,000-year flood, WKYC sent her to South Carolina, where she interviewed U.S. Senator Tim Scott live and simultaneously reported on the destruction he was surveying around a portion of the state. She also reported live from the command center where Governor Nikki Haley gave press conferences.

Golston was also chosen to report on the case of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, where she released information on a $3.4 million request for police emergency funds after being the first to interview a St. Louis County finance officer on the subject of funding.

Golston anchored the weekend evening shows for the NBC station in Birmingham, Alabama, before WKYC, where she won an Emmy for reporting on a special that marked the one-year anniversary of the worst tornado outbreak to hit Alabama.

She has anchored NBC 13’s sports coverage on the weekend evening shows for more than two years. Before Golston had graduated from college, she made her mark on TV, working as a reporter for High School Hammertime on Fox Sports Network Detroit. Even before graduation, Golston anchored and broadcast as part of The S S” for an audience of more than 24,000 viewers. Golston’s article on the inter-county connector aired on the former WB Interloop display in the 9th largest market at the time, Washington DC.

When coming to her education, she is a Detroit Country Day High School graduate. She holds a degree in political science from George Washington University in Washington, DC. The degree led her to ask for the fast-paced, and often gritty, beat of the Birmingham City Council, where for three years she covered the body that governs the state’s largest city and the municipal budget.
