Durda serves at WPLG Local 10 News in Miami, Florida as a weather forecaster. With vast knowledge and experience in meteorology from different parts of the United States, Durda joined Local 10. In 2003, for KXTV, the ABC affiliate in her hometown, she started her broadcasting career as a traffic, feature, and weather reporter. Julie was soon interested in concentrating on meteorology and the effect of the weather around the U.S.

She moved to KPHO, the CBS affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona, after Sacramento, as the weather and traffic anchor. Julie covered the Pacific hurricane seasons, including monsoons and haboobs, as an integral part of the CBS Storm Team in Phoenix (known as Arizonian Dust Storms). Julie moved from there to a local Miami station, where she became the No. 1-morning meteorologist for South Florida.

For the past five years, Julie has spent mastering the tropical climate and season of the Atlantic Hurricane. She also holds the stamp of approval for television weather casting from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and has been a member of the National Weather Association (NWA) since 2006. When coming to her education, Julie earned her degree from Mississippi State University as a broadcast-certified meteorologist.

She is very active in the culture, and in 2011 she was also named Best Meteorologist in South Florida”. Including the Boys and Girls Club, Breast Cancer Prevention, and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Julie supports many charitable causes. As an avid athlete, Julie also supports runs for local charities to raise funds and enjoys being able to connect with her audience.
