Ray serves at WFTV as a weekend news anchor for Eyewitness News This Morning. She also serves as an investigative reporter for the 9 Investigates unit. Before joining WFTV, she worked for Waterman Broadcasting Corp in Fort Myers, Florida as a Fill-in Anchor and Investigative Reporter for 1 year and 3 months (August 2011 – October 2012).
While in Fort Myers, she uncovered a billing dispute that may have led to a human’s death, leading to sweeping changes at Naples Community Health. During the legislative session in Tallahassee in the year 2012, Ray covered the story of Aaron Edwards as he was fighting to have a claims $15-million bill passed following an injury at Lee Memorial Health. The bill became the 2nd-largest judgment awarded through the legislature of Florida. Ray’s coverage was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2012, as well as a regional Edward R. Murrow award in the spring of 2013.
Before going to Florida, she worked for a CBS affiliate, KELO-TV in South Dakota as a Fill-in Anchor and News Reporter for 3 years (May 2007 – April 2010). That is where she began her TV news career. In her first experience in TV news, she wore many hats; editor, video shooter, anchor, and producer. Ray has worked as an intern at KSAZ-TV in Phoenix, Arizona for 5 months.
