Bokamper serves at CBS4 as a Sports Anchor. He is a former Miami Dolphins player. He was among the best-known members of the world champion Miami Dolphins, in the mid-1980s and 1970s. In the year 1976, he first joined the team as a first-round draft, linebacker. In the years 1980 and 1981, he played in 2 Pro Bowls. He played as a starting defensive end for Super Bowls XVII the following year.
Two years later (1984), Bokamper played as a starting defensive end for Super Bowls XIX. Bokamper holds an Outstanding Linebacker Award, which he received in the year 1981. Bokamper ultimately retired from his football career.
Since his retirement from football, he has pursued a broadcasting career. For 4 years (1992 – 1996), Bokamper served as the host of “Sports Talk 610” on WIOD. There he hosted the Dolphin’s both post-game and pre-game shows. From 1993 to 1996, he served on Channel 33 as a football analyst for “Sunday Night Sports Rap.” Bokamper has also worked as a host of “Sports Talk” on 560 WQAM, and as a football analyst for News4.
Bokamper is also a successful consultant and businessman, besides his broadcasting job. He is a strong volunteer in the community. He volunteers his time to several charitable organizations such as the United Way, the Cystic Fibrosis Association, Special Olympics, and the American Cancer Association. Bokamper has also served as president of the Miami Dolphins Alumni association and the Miami Chapter of the NFL Alumni Association. When it comes to his education, he is a proud 1976 alumnus of San Jose State.
