She and the OU Nightly won a student Emmy Award for the best newscast during her senior year. She learned the ins and outs of this business from veteran directors and producers before she graduated from the university. Capps serves at KDFW FOX 4 in Dallas/Fort Worth, North Texas as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist. He appears on Good Day Sunday and Good Day Saturday. She says that she is fortunate to work alongside the no. 1 weather team on FOX 4. Before joining the station, she was working for KXXV-TV in Waco, Texas. That is where she began her first experience with Television. She spent one and a half years there serving as a Weekend morning Meteorologist. After 2 months at Waco, Hurricane Harvey struck the Texas coast. When the outer bands swept across central Texas, Capps was tasked to cover numerous tornado warnings and overnight flooding threats for our southeastern counties. Capps experienced “Texas” ice storms while in Waco.

Before that, she was in college but working with KWTV in Oklahoma, working as a Meteorologist Intern for 6 months. There she covered severe weather across Oklahoma State. Capps was working as a Meteorologist Intern also at Kotv Channel 6 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before going to KWTV. At Kotv Channel 6, Capps was learning and sharpening her forecasting skills from 2 incredible chief meteorologists.

Capps told her parents that she aspired to become a meteorologist in Dallas when she was 8 years old. Growing up, she got hooked on the broadcast meteorologists that they always watched during severe weather outbreaks. She was always watching weather channels on television, with a weather radio in hand, in case of power loss. She says that at the time, she always made sure that he parents and siblings knew their severe weather safety plan, even if the forecast called for a slight chance of rain. During her leisure, she likes watching college football, trying new restaurants (she is a horrible cook), running, and meeting every dog on her block.
