Diaz serves at FOX 11 in LA as the Southern California news anchor. In May 2012, she started working for the Fox station. Since April 2010, she was the solo anchor of the weekday editions of CBS2 News at 6 pm before she left the station.

For CBS2, she created and hosted several “Eye on Our Culture” specials. She was previously Diaz’s lead anchor at CBS2 and ABC7 in Los Angeles. Diaz was the first Mexican-American to hold a lead anchor role at an English-language television station in Southern California. She was the first Mexican-American to hold a lead anchor role.

In 1983, she returned to Southern California as a KABC-TV reporter at the station’s Orange County office. As a reporter at KABC-TV, she covered many big stories, including the 1986 Los Angeles Central Library Eruption, the 1992 Los Angeles Riots, and the 1994 Northridge earthquake. 

She started working as a weekend anchor in 1985, and three years later, she started to anchor KABC-TV ‘S 6 pm weekday evening newscast. She was appointed anchor for the station’s 5 pm and 11 pm newscasts in 1997. At an English-language television station in Los Angeles, this promotion made her the first female Hispanic lead anchor.

In September 2002, Diaz joined KCBS-TV as co-anchor of CBS 2 News at 5 and 11 pm with Harold Greene and Paul Magers joining her as co-anchor in 2004. One of the founding hosts of the pioneering Vista L.A. was also Diaz. On KABC-TV, one of Southern California’s first public relations shows to represent the region’s English-speaking Latino audience.

The prestigious Imagen Award was received twice by that program when she was the co-host. Her job with Vista L.A. He has won three local Emmy Awards as well. In August 2011, when “Eye on Our Neighborhood” was chosen as the Best Local Information Software, Diaz received the third Image Prize. She joined the company FOX L.A.

In May 2012, alongside FOX news anchor Susan Hirasuna, the weekend news broadcasts. When coming to her education, she graduated from Hart High School, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She is a grad of California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly SLO) in San Luis Obispo, California. Her first television job was at KSBY in San Luis Obispo, followed in Fresno by one at KFSN.
