In 1990, Dickert started working as an intern at KTTV. He was then hired as a manufacturing assistant and went on to help launch the 1993 Fox 11 Morning News and Good Day LA. As a weekend meteorologist at KEYT, an ABC affiliate in Santa Barbara, he started his on-air career in January 1998.
In April 2005, after spending three years as the weekend weather anchor at FOX, Dickert joined the FOX 11 Morning News and Good Day LA teams. He was elected in 1994 as a full member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and is regarded by the organization as a meteorologist. When coming to his education, he is a grad of San Jose State University and UCLA, Dickert studied meteorology.
