Tellez anchored the midday newscast for the NBC affiliate in San Francisco prior to working at KTTV. First, as a news writer and then a news producer in the Bay Area, where she was raised, her broadcasting career started behind the scenes.
When she landed a reporting job for the CBS affiliate in Salinas, her on-air career began. From there, she moved as a reporter and editor for the nightly show, Evening Magazine, to the CBS station in San Francisco. Tellez left California for a chance to anchor in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2008. That’s where she got the opportunity to star in “Breaking Bad,” the hit AMC show.
Over the years, Tellez has interviewed several high-ranking officials, and actors and covered the widely publicized Scott Peterson Trial. Along the way, she has picked up two Emmy awards.
