Armstrong assisted the people of Oklahoma by providing warnings on 4 distinct supercell thunderstorms that were producing over 20 tornadoes. In the year 2007, he covered Tropical Storm Erin, and in May 2013, he covered Tornado Outbreaks. Additionally, Armstrong took coverage of the crippling ice storms in the years 2007 and 2002.
