While at WRGT/WKEF, she earned an Emmy Award for breaking news coverage of the Oregon District mass shooting, enterprise, and follow-up stories. Also, she was nominated for 4 Emmys for reporting on 15 tornados ripping through the region in one night.
Reed also won 1st-place SPJ Awards. She led to the changes that were made in Ohio’s children service’s department, via her investigative coverage of a young boy who lost his life after a couple of years of abuse.
Reed began her career in journalism at WKBN-TV in Youngstown, Ohio where she worked as a news anchor/reporter for 3 years. From there, she now joined WRGT. While in college, she interned at WKMG-TV – News 6 for 4 months (May 2014 – August 2014), as well as at WESH 2 News in Orlando for 4 months.
Other than working as a journalist, she has worked as a Criminal Justice Professionalism at FDLE in Tallahassee, Florida for 2 years. Also in Tallahassee, she has worked as a staff writer for FSView & Florida Flambeau for 9 months.
During her leisure, she likes chilling at the beach, spending time with her loved ones, or with her black lab named Seamus. Also, she loves going to her fav restaurant “Meg O Malley’s in Melbourne, FL, having her fav food “Chicken fingers,” and listening to rock music.
Additionally, she enjoys reading her fav book “Harry Potter,” cheering on Denver Broncos and FSU Seminoles, watching her fav film “Good Fellas” and the show “Seinfeld,” and traveling. She looks forward to visiting Singapore.
