Meade began her journalistic career at WMFD-TV as a reporter in Mansfield, Ohio. She then worked as an anchor and reporter at WJW-TV in Cleveland and at WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio. Later, she was employed at WSVN-TV’s Today morning show in Miami, Florida serving as the news anchor. She also served as the station’s health reporter and noon anchor.
Later she was tenured at WMAQ-TV an NBC Chicago affiliate where she served as an anchor for the morning newscasts and co-anchored the weekend newscasts. She also served as the network’s general assignment correspondent. There she featured the network’s specials covering the 1996 Olympics, including the Centennial Olympic Park bombing special report.
She later joined CNN Headline News HLN anchoring the network’s coverage of Operation Enduring Freedom as well as the 2003 Operation Iraqi Freedom. Meade was based at the network’s world headquarters in Atlanta.
She first went live on September 11, 2001, at HLN. There she hosted the network’s Morning Express with Robin Meade on weekday mornings, along with Jennifer Westhoven, Bob Van Dillen, Melissa Knowles, and Mike Galanos.
