She began as a news reporter and weekend news anchor at WBIR-TV and she held that role for 17 years (from 1992 to 2009), and after that, she now took her current role.
In the year 1998, Wilhoit was excited to join Bill Williams (longtime Channel 10 Anchor) at the anchor’s desk. Still, in that year, she contributed to starting the “Buddy Check 10” show to raise awareness about breast cancer. Through this program, she has had the honor of sharing the stories of women and men who have bravely fought against the disease. She says that she feels privileged to give a voice to their struggles and triumphs, where she highlights their courage and resilience.
A few days after finishing high school, Wilhoit started her journalism career at WJHL-TV in Johnson City, Tennessee where she worked as a news reporter. This early start gave her a chance to learn quickly and get used to the busy newsroom environment.
