Wooten serves at NBCUniversal as a Meteorologist. Before joining NBCUniversal, he served at The Weather Channel as an On-Camera Meteorologist. He joined The Weather Channel in May 2018 after graduating from college. He departed from the station in May 2022.

He is the past president of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association (North Florida Chapter) (North Florida Chapter). Tevin has worked as a journalist and weather anchor in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and spent time as an EV30 concept student with engineers at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. When coming to his education, Tevin holds degrees from the University of Arkansas in broadcast journalism and Florida State University in meteorology, with a specialization in mathematics.
